It’s official: Sony has confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will be released before the end of November — to be specific, PlayStation 3 owners will finally find the oft-delayed racer on store shelves on November 24.
This follows a last-minute delay late last month, when Gran Turismo 5 was originally slated to be released on November 3. Sony insisted that the game would still be released before Christmas, and sure enough, they’re even getting it out a day before Thanksgiving — and just in time for Black Friday.
“Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Program!” said Kazunori Yamauchi, president of developer Polyphony Digital, in a statement. “I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed.”
For as long as it’s taken to get this game on store shelves (reflect that Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, which was originally supposed to be a small taste to hold over fans, was released a full two-and-a-half years ago), then we better not be disappointed.
